Obituary of Frank Mazzio

Frank Mazzio, age 90, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012. He was born in New York City on June 3, 1921 and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1952. Frank's career included working as a Business Manager for Presbyterian Hospital when the hospital opened from 1951 to 1958. He then went on to work as a Business Manager and Accountant in the Albuquerque area, most notably as Vice President of Business and Financial Affairs at the University of Albuquerque, as well as Business Manager for the New Mexico Hospital Association. Frank honorably served his country in the Army during World War II. He loved nothing more than listening to classic jazz performed by the legends. Frank was an avid golfer, ardent reader and enjoyed lively political and philosophical discussions with friends. He is preceded in death by his step-son, Brad Garrison. Frank is survived by his wife, Betty Mazzio; son, James Mazzio; daughter, LeeDyer and her husband Paul; step-son, Gregg Garrison and brother, Anthony Mazzio and his wife Betty. A graveside service with Military Honors will be celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Following the service, a celebration of Frank's life open house at 2:00 PM at the family home, located at 2262 Calle De Ortiz in Los Lunas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Belen Meadows Health Care and Rehab Center, 1831 Camino Del Llano Belen, NM 87002, for the Gazebo and new patio.
