Obituary of Alan Methvin

Alan Methvin, age 65, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was the son of the late Nolan Glover and Jimmie Sue Methvin of Chickasha, Oklahoma. After spending the majority of his life in Oklahoma, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he has lived nearly the last two decades. Alan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Richard Methvin of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister, Susan Methvin of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter, Lexi and husband Ray McNutt of Aspen, Colorado; son, Corbin and wife Allison Methvin of Dallas, Texas and grandchildren, Lila and Nolan Methvin of Dallas. He enjoyed amateur photography and found inspiration hiking in the Santa Fe area. Alan had an affinity for classical music and treasured the solitude of long drives across the New Mexico landscape. He always found comfort in reading, especially the works of English novelist and poet Thomas Hardy. In death he has found a peace he deserved in life. Alan will be placed to rest next to his parents in Chickasha where a private memorial service will be held on April 1, 2013. Arrangements entrusted to Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE in New Mexico and McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.
