Obituary of Robert L Sneed

Robert L. Sneed, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 24th after a long battle with brain cancer. Robert moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1952. In 1959 he married the former Nancy Galt of Carlsbad. Robert graduated from NMSU in 1963 with a commission in the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1984 and went on to teach JROTC for 18 years at Lane Tech, H.S. in Chicago, IL. Robert & Nancy retired to Albuquerque in 2002. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jeffrey & wife, Patricia of Novi, MI and Sean & wife Jeanne of Grayslake, IL and five Grandchildren, Samantha, Robert, Allison, Grace, and Connor. Robert is also survived by his mother, Helen M. Parks; sisters, Diane Goggans of Albuquerque, Rebecca Dielfield, of Cobden, IL and one brother Dennis Sneed of Herrin, IL. Services for Robert will be held at St Chad's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 1:00PM. Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St Chad's Episcopal Church, 7171 Tennyson Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122 in memory of Robert L. Sneed.
