Obituary of Lawrence Tafoya

Lawrence Tafoya, Sr. June 15, 1935 - March 2, 2007 Born: Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Cleofes and Felipita Sena Tafoya. Survived by six children: Lawrence Jr., Elizabeth, Rob, wife Gaby, Paul, wife Kelly, Andy and Mark; grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Brooklyn and Melissa; sisters, Elsie Southard, Martha Flanagan, Geraldine Lyle, husband Jim; brother, Mike and wife Rosie; and many nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by brothers, Cleofes Jr., Sam, Raymond, Henry and Gilbert. Attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary, St. Joseph's College, and University of Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army. He lived and worked in Tucson, Arizona for many years. Lawrence loved to make people laugh and smile, always had a supply of jokes and a sharp and ready wit. He was known for his excellent cooking, and sometimes catered for crowds. He played baseball and softball in his youth, and always loved sports. He loved jazz, Mexican music, poker, fishing, reading and making toys and games for his children when they were small. He will be very much missed by family and friends. Rosary will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. 5310 Claremont Ave, Albuquerque NM 87110, 7:00 pm. Thursday March 8. Mass for Lawrence Tafoya will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, March 9, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. 5310 Claremont Ave, Albuquerque NM 87110. Cremains will be interred following the mass at Mt.
