Obituary of Michael C Vinyard

Michael C. Vinyard, age 59, a resident of Albuquerque, born on September 16, 1954 in Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014. Michael was a devoted husband and father, and served his country proudly. He retired as a Major in the United States Air Force and was also employed with the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the State of New Mexico and Valencia County. Michael greatly enjoyed motorcycles, drag racing, computers, photography and traveling. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Tucker Vinyard; and brother, James Vinyard. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Rena Vinyard; sons, Dale Jones, Paul Vinyard, Kenneth Vinyard; daughter, Margaret Diaz and husband, Jose; father, J.V. Vinyard and wife, Ruby; brother, Robert Vinyard and wife, Becky; granddaughter, Ava Diaz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. All services will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church; located at 8700 Alameda Ave NE, beginning with a viewing at 5:00 PM, with Funeral service to be celebrated at 6:00 PM. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 8:45 AM with full military honors as accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
