Obituary of Carol A Woods

Carol Ann Woods was born May 13, 1960 in New Castle Pennsylvania. She passed away on Sunday August 19th in Albuquerque New Mexico. Carol met and married her soul mate Casey later in life and was grateful to have found him. She frequently commented on how blessed she was with Michael A. Overton, her only biological child as he gave her life purpose. Although they were no longer children when Carol and Casey married, her step-children Josh, Dustie and Aaron taught her many things and helped her to grow. Carol is also survived by her father, Lewis R. Shields; brother, Dennis and his wife Kathy Shields and their children; brother, Greg Shields and his daughter; Sean Woods-Garcia and June Woods are Carol's treasured grandchildren who gave her great joy. Carol was an active member of Cristo del Valle Presbyterian Church where she shared her love of music by playing the piano. In her spare time, Carol loved to garden, travel and sew. A student of the game of golf, Carol was always working toward the perfect game of golf with Casey by her side. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Cristo del Valle Presbyterian Church, located at 3907 Isleta Blvd. SW Albuquerque, NM 87105, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers Carol would ask that you hug your loved ones and plant a tree. Any donations received will be used to further Carol's ministry of music at Cristo del Valle.
