Obituary of Norene Reynolds Sanders

Norene Reynolds Sanders 93 passed away May 12, 2021 in Cibola General Hospital, Grants New Mexico due to complications of cancer. She was born September 23, 1927 in Luna New Mexico to Acel and Effie Reynolds.

After graduating from High school she moved to Albuquerque to where she worked as a waitress.  This is where she met her husband Homer Sanders.  It wasn’t long before they fell in love and were married.

Norene was a very loving mother and person.  She always gave unselfishly to family, friends and anyone that was down on their luck. She was the happiest when she was hard at work from sun up to sun down.  She enjoyed creating things such as arts and crafts; wood workings; sewing; crocheting and embroidering.  She loved to go to the mountains to enjoy the beautiful flowers and cut firewood.  Her very best talent was being a mother and homemaker.  

Norene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She spent many years volunteering in different capacities.  She enjoyed any chance she had to serve.  She has a deep and abiding love for her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ.

Norene has blessed many people with her 93 years of life, especially her family which she loved more than anything.
Norene is survived by her son Alton Sanders (Peggy), Daughters Vickie Sullivan (James), Carol Wengert, and Tammy White.  Norene is preceded in death by her husband Homer, Daughter Rena Rougemont, and granddaughter Jaqueline Rougemont Gonzalez , her parents Acel and Effie and all her siblings Fontella, Opal, Ace, Van, Kay and Teddy.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 at 10:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building on 1010 Bondad Ave. Grants, New Mexico.  Viewing will be held prior to the services from 9 to 10 am.  Interment will be at the Luna Cemetery in Luna, New Mexico.
