Obituary of Gonzalo Macias

Gonzalo “Gus” Macias Jr. born and raised in Santa Fe, NM passed away unexpectedly on April 15th, 2022. Gus was born October 9th 1953 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Gonzalo Macias Sr. and Felice Lomeli. Gus was most known as the magic behind the menu for Tortilla Flats. He was Co-Founder and Head Chef for Tortilla Flats for the last 36 years. His passion and love for his food made many people happy over the years. He is also well known as “Coach” for one of his hobbies that he loved for the last 25 years in the public schools. Gus leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Shirley Macias. 7 children, Juan Macias (Naomilynn, Xeralynn , Marcelino) Amanda Macias (Justine, Alexis, James, Jerome, Amelia) Francisco Macias (Zillah, Evangelina) Crystal Macias (Andrea) Tino Macias, Lupita Macias (Chris, Chris jr, Aaliyah) Esperanza Macias(Cesar, Matteo.) 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 9 brothers and sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins throughout New Mexico. He will be missed dearly by his loved ones as well as the community who have known him throughout his life. Services will be held June 15th, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church located at 1313 Apache Ave. Santa fe, NM 87505 at 10 o’clock am.
