Amy was the baby of the family, having eight older brothers and sisters. She moved with her family to Albuquerque when she was 4 years old and grew up here, going for long family hikes, riding her bike, and playing with her siblings. Amy started working as a teenager and worked very hard over her lifetime. She spent many years making the people of the Albuquerque area more beautiful and handsome, working as a hair stylist, and she recently worked at Dollar Tree, a job which she really enjoyed. Amy liked having family gatherings at her home. She was very creative and enjoyed refurbishing furniture and creating beautiful crafts.

Amy has three beloved children, Briana, Christian and Liam, all of Albuquerque. She is preceded in death by her father, Dennis Fitzgerald. She is survived by her mother, Emily Fitzgerald, of Belen; brother John and his partner, Louise, of Maine; sister Ann Marie and her husband, Robert, of Albuquerque; sister Therese Cooper and her husband, Doug, of Edgewood; sister Mary Langlois, of Rio Rancho; brother Matt Fitzgerald and his wife, Chris, of California; sister Patty Schluter and her husband, Bill, of Albuquerque; sister Angela Cabanillas and her husband, Richard, of Los Lunas; and brother Steve Fitzgerald and his wife, Maggy, of Belen; and many, many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Amy was known for her big heart and for being thoughtful of others, especially her mother. Her daughter, Briana, said of her mom, "she was always my biggest champion." Amy had a big personality and a bigger sense of humor, with a genuine, infectious laugh. She was always known for her honesty. Amy loved her family, and especially her children, more than anything.
