Guadalupe Cruz

Obituary of Guadalupe Cruz

On Friday, July 15th 2022, Lupe Cruz, a loving mother of  three and grandmother of seven, passed away at the age of 51.

Lupe was born August 19, 1970 in El Paso, TX to Antonio and Guadalupe Cruz. Lupe has been a proud employee of the DAV for 25 years, supporting our disabled veterans.

Lupe was a single mother of 3, Gloria, Anthony y Adriana. She was a devoted grandmother. She did anything and all for her grandkids and made sure they always felt loved. She helped Gloria raise her children and joked about having 50/50 custody with her. Her grandkids held a very special place in her heart. She introduced Matthewto basketball and enjoyed being in the front seat of one of his basketball games. She supported him in all he did. She loved how crazy and wild Gabriel was and the creative things he'd do. He always made her laugh. Anahi and her had a special bond. She loved taking Anahi shopping or having her with her at any event she attended. Carolina was the baby who fulfilled her baby fever. She loved waking up and playing with her and watching a football game on TV. They were best friends. Yazmin arrived at a very difficult time in our lives. She was born 11 months after the death of Lupe's little brother and brought joy to all of our hearts. Lupe was excited to have Giovanni as a bonus grandchild. She enjoyed shopping for holidays for him and even hosting his surprise birthday parties.

Lupe is well known for her parties. She not only hosted the parties but was the party. She enjoyed gathering her family and friends and having a good time. Cooking for others was her love language. She was a great cook and will be forever known for her posole, lasagna, macaroni & potato salad. Football season was her favorite. She was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Getting together in front of a football game with her father and brother was how she started off her week. She also loved the San Antonio Spurs and had hoped one day to make it to a game. She will be deeply missed by friends and family.

Lupe was preceded in death by her baby brother Gabriel, her grandbaby who never made it on Earth and her cousins, Rene, Bianca y Emilio. She is survived by her three children, Gloria, Anthony, Adriana and son-in-law Adan. Her six grandbabies, Matthew, Gabriel, Anahi, Giovanni, Carolina and Yazmin. Her brother Tony, his wife Rebecca, their three kids Yvette, Antonio and Diego. Her parents Antonio y Guadalupe; her grandmother Ramona, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
