Obituary of Nicholette Lucille Minssen

Nicholette Lucille Minssen, "Nikki" age 43, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, after complications from surgery.  Nikki was born on October 9, 1978, in Espanola, New Mexico, to Phyllis and Teddy Taylor.  She was a 1997 graduate of Cibola High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She married Jon Minssen, who pre-deceased her 10 years prior.  She is survived by her two children, Jonathan Minssen, 21 and Matthew Minssen, 19 and her mother Phyllis A. Taylor.  She worked from home for Presbyterian Healthcare. 

 

Nikki was a truly unique person with a great personality. She loved her children unconditionally and would do anything she could to help them succeed in their endeavors.  She was a great support to her mother, involving her in various aspects of her life. She was an only child.  Her friends were her extended family and she loved them dearly.  She owned her own successful Paparazzi Jewelry business.  She was a great cook and baker. She was a crafty person and liked to do art and sewing projects, often involving her children, mother and friends.  She loved sunflowers and butterflies, the moon and rainbows. 

 

She was pre-deceased by her father, Teddy Taylor, her maternal grandparents, Ella and Cipriano Padilla, her paternal grandparents Homer Taylor and Lucy Martinez, Uncle Leroy "Sonny" Padilla, Aunt Judy Foster, Uncle John Padilla, Uncle Freddy Taylor, cousins Crystal Hunt, Jessica Hunt, Theresa Felter, John Felter, Joseph Rendon, Julian Rendon, Dean Lucero and several other family members and friends.

 

On Saturday, August 27, 2022, a rosary will be held at 10:00a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:30a.m. at St Thomas Aquinas Church, 1502 Sara Road in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The family has entrusted  Nicholette's care to Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque.
