Betty Duncan

Obituary of Betty Doris Duncan

Betty Doris Duncan, 82, fell asleep in the Lord's arms on Friday, July 08, 2022. The Lord gave her love her whole life and blessed her. Betty was born in Galveston, TX on August 3, 1939 to Alton and Dorothy Reed. Betty married her sweetheart Ray Duncan. Betty grew up in El Paso, TX where she and Ray raised their three children. They moved to the Albuquerque area in 1985. Although Betty worked numerous jobs in her life she eventually retired from Albuquerque Public Schools having worked at East San Jose and Whittier Elementary schools. Betty loved having fun, eating out, watching QVC and traveling. She looked forward to the State Fair every year and would wear her most colorful outfit and hat while roaming the Manuel Lujan building looking for the latest gadgets to buy. She cared for her family deeply and spent many hours trying to solve their problems, even when it wasn’t needed. Betty was a good friend, mother and grandmother. She was always blessed with good neighbors.

We all love her, and she will be missed by all that know her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Duncan, parents Alton and Dorothy Reed, and grandson Phillip Sena. She leaves behind her children, Lynda, Jimmy(wife Susan), and Bill (wife Pam), grandchildren Jeanette, Christina, Christie, Heather, Cody, Nicholas, Natalie, William, and Savannah, great-grandchildren Bayli, Frank, Gabriel, Madison, Lucas, and Kenny and her dog Honey.

A loving mother is now at rest; for each of us, she did her best, her love was great, her love was kind, and her beautiful memory is now left behind. Her warm smile, her beautiful face, a special mom we can't replace.

A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on September 06, 2022 at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8130 Sage Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121.
