Obituary of Socorro Batista

Socorro Batista went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ at age 91, she was born on March 19, 1931, in San Juan del Rio, Durango (Mexico). As a young woman she moved to Juarez, where she met the love of her life, Jose Batista Sr.

In 1958 she immigrated to the United States.

She is survived by her soul mate and beloved husband: Jose Batista Sr.; daughter Celia and her husband Jaime; daughter Maria; daughter Louisa and her husband Todd; son Jose jr. and his wife Diana; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister Catalina; sister Margarita.

She will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor as well as her special talent for bestowing nicknames on people. She loved to be surrounded by Family and Friends.

Cooking was Socorro's love language. She was an amazing cook and shared it lovingly with family and friends. Her empanadas, and banana nut bread will be especially missed.

Her giving heart will be missed by all!

Services will be on Tuesday, September 6th, at Riverside Funeral Home at 225 San Mateo Blvd NE 87108.
