Obituary of Rudy Watson

Rudy Watson Sr. passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 10, 2022. Rudy was born on February 5, 1933, in Pena Blanca, New Mexico to Noah Sr. and Juanita Watson. He is proceeded in death by his wife Ophelia (Ophie) Watson and daughter Nora Vargas. He is survived by sons Rudy Watson Jr., David (Anna) Watson and daughter Marie (Jorge) Aragon. Sisters Virginia Martinez, Della Spencer and brothers Noah Jr., George and Charlie (Pat) Watson plus grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rudy worked for the US Federal Government for 33 years as a Federal Police Officer. He joined the army and served in the Korean War. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors. As a skilled carpenter, he spent most of his spare time working on at-home projects. One of his favorite hobbies was landscaping, he had a green thumb! And, as a young man, Rudy was a boxer and enjoyed watching the Saturday night fights.

A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 @ 10:20 am at San Isidro Church 3552 Agua Fria Street in Santa Fe, NM. Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. A Christian Burial will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery@ 1:30 pm. A reception to follow at the Pecos Trail Café at 2:30 pm.

All funeral services have been provided by Riverside Funeral Home of Santa Fe.
