Obituary of Gilbert Raymond Rael

Gilbert Raymond Rael Jr., 42, born on January 12, 1981, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 30, 2023.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Clara and Andres Rael and Carmen and Mary Montano.  He is survived by his sons, Gilbert the 3rd and Santiago; girlfriend, Chere Garcia; parents Gilbert Sr. and Liz; sister, Leihanne; brother-in-law, Mario Mendiola; brother, David (Nancy); sister, Monica (Rueben); nephews: Mario Jr, Abran, Elias, and David Jr.

  Gilbert was a 1999 graduate of Santa Fe High School, he served and wrestled with the US Navy and worked as an electrician for over 20 years.

  Gilbert was wonderful person that loved the ladies, and the ladies loved him.  He was respectful, known for having a witty sense of humor, he always thought outside the box, and was a protector to all the people he knew and loved.  He enjoyed going to concerts, dancing, laughing, fishing, going to the casino, making jewelry, and most of all spending time with his boys whom he loved very much and was so proud of.  We will miss his smiling face that just lite up any room.  Most of all, we will miss him!

A Rosary will be held Monday, March 20,2023 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Anne Parish Catholic Church in Santa Fe NM to be followed by the Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m.  Reception will follow immediately at the St. Anne Parish Hall.
