Obituary of Gloria Ann Martinez

We are very sad to announce the passing of Gloria Ann Martinez of Albuquerque, NM. Gloria was 74 when she went home to our Lord on April 3, 2023.

Gloria was born in Albuquerque January 1, 1949, the 3rd of 6 children born to Pedro "Johnny" Martinez and Rose Garule Martinez. Gloria moved to CA with her Mother Rose and sister, Josephine Martinez Watson in 1968 and helped raise, guide, and care for her nieces and nephews in CA, PA, and NM. Our "Tia" was very much the Mary Poppins, flying off with a suitcase full of goodies picked up at the New Mexico State Fair.

Gloria loved her coffee so much, the whole family knows what 7 & 7 means. When she could, she would spend time with her friends at the Tijeras Senior Center. She enjoyed preparing for events, joining the field trips and was proud to showoff her craft projects.

Gloria is proceeded in death by her parents, her eldest brother Pete "Sonny" Martinez, youngest sister Josephine, and nephew Almark Martinez. She is survived by her elder sister, LeNora Bennett of PA, her brothers Felix and Albert Martinez of Albuquerque, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023,  at Santa Nino Church, 16926 Frontage Rd. with Rosary at 9:00am followed by Mass at 10:00am.
