Shawn Wilson

Obituary of Shawn Christopher Wilson

Shawn Christopher Wilson, 43, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, following a long battle with kidney disease.

Shawn was born on September 21, 1980 to his mother, Lisa Anne Wilson in Albuquerque New Mexico. Shawn spent his teenage years in Aviano, Italy, where he excelled in Cross Country Track, Soccer and Football. He was a talented artist, credited for drawing what would become the high school's mascot, before graduating in the year 2000. Proud to be a Saint, he remained connected with other Aviano Alumni throughout the remainder of his life.

After graduating High School, he moved back to the United States, where he began what would be his career in the tech industry, at Verizon Wireless. Shawn made some of his greatest, and lifelong friends during his time working at Verizon, and was proud of the things he accomplished there.

In 2004, Shawn was blessed with a daughter, Olivia Rose Wilson, 19 years old. Although they were apart, he thought of her everyday, and hoped that she knew she was loved.

Shawn was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Andrew Wilson, and his maternal grandparents, Henrietta & Richard Saracen. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Wilson, his father, Marvin Wilson (Amanda); Paternal Grandmother, Sandra Hill; Sisters Jeanine Heederik (Terry), and Ale & Ana; Brother, Wesley Wilson; daughter, Olivia Rose Wilson; Godfather, Rick Saracen; Nieces, Felicity Gilman & Alexandria Gilman; Nephews, Jason Gilman, Logan Neiswonger, & Owen Gilman;  Uncles, Brian, & John Saracen (Desiree); Aunts, Tiffany Kamas (Ken), Laura Garcia, & Shelly Rosenfeld (Larry); many cousins, and countless friends.

Shawn had a zest for life that was rare. He loved to laugh, and to make other people laugh. He loved music, Toy Story, wrestling, Boba Tea, shoes, holidays, and his momma. Playing video games with his nephews was one of his favorite past times. He was kind and empathetic - always willing to help someone else. He was emotional, the kind to cry during Disney movies, but he was also tough, and mentally strong- as his everyday fight demonstrated perfectly. Shawn will be remembered for his sense of humor and his laugh - he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will take place on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 2-4pm at Riverside Funeral Home, to whom the family has entrusted the care of their loved one.
