Obituary of Duane Eugene Warson

Duane “Buck” Warson was born on April 9th, 1934 in Pontoosuc, IL. He was called home on December 18th, 2023 after a very sudden decline in his health at age 89.

Duane was survived by his wife Peggy N. Warson, Daughter Cody Perry her husband Andy and their children, Daughter Kelly Warson, Daughter Rhonda Orona and her children, 7 Grandchildren, 27 Great  Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way,  Along with many loyal and extended family and friends. Duane was preceded in death by Parents Lester J. Warson SR and Mildred R. Warson, Brother Lester J. Warson JR, Son Craig A. Warson, Grandson Buck A. Warson.

Duane enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1952. He later met Peggy and they got married in 1956. They went on to raise 4 children. He served in the U.S Navy for 23 years. During his time in the U.S Navy he served in the Korean and Vietnam War. Duane held many ranks before retiring in 1975 as a Chief Warrant Officer III. He went on to work for Garrett Callahan as a Territory Salesman, providing services for water treatment on commercial heating and cooling systems throughout New Mexico for 33 years.

Buck was a true cowboy who had quarter horses, and team roped with his grandson. He was the president of The New Mexico Quarter Horse Association. He raised, bred and sold Quarter horses. He also enjoyed Golfing in his spare time with family and friends.

Funeral will be held on: January 19, 2024 at Riverside Funeral Home from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: Riverside Funeral Home Chapel.  We will then proceed to Santa Fe National Cemetery for burial: January 19, 2024 at 1:30 PM

Reception to be held at: Place and time pending.
