Obituary of Oracio Mares

Oracio was born on March 9, 1962, and passed away on December 14, 2023. Oracio was born in Albuquerque NM to Erlinda Montoya and Joe A. Marez. He attended and graduated from Valley High School then went on to work as a Glazier for 30 years working on home windows, storefronts and later went on to work flying glass in casinos in Las Vegas NV.

Oracio also had a great life with his family, he was always working and never stayed still, he would give you his last dollar or shirt off his back. He loved rock music and had a great collection of albums he collected through the years.

Oracio is preceded in death by his son Oracio Jr., he is survived by his wife Angel Torres-Mares, his children Tara, Tomas (Raven), Angela (Diego), and Victoria (Marc). He is also survived by his mother, Erlinda Montya, brothers, Julio, Richard, Raymond and sisters, Della (husband George), Patsy (husband Cliff) Yolanda, Hilda, Francis (husband Mike) Susie, Stella, Jessica, and Michelle.

A mass will be held for Oracio on January 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary located at 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105 with a celebration of life following the mass in the church Community Center. As Oracio would say “NO SISSSY LA LA’S INVITED!”
