Obituary of Diolinda (Abeyta) Brown

Diolinda “Dollye” (Abeyta) Brown went to reside with our Lord on January 2, 2024 at the young age of 96 years old.

Dollye is preceded in death by her beloved husband Orlando “Shorty” Brown, her parents Alfredo and Bersabe Abeyta, and her brothers Alfredo, Henry and Elefio Abeyta.

She is survived by her daughters Phyllis (Edward) and Monica (Lawrence), Grandchildren Lisa (Ricardo), Gina, Rocky (Fran), Fabian (Mallorie), Estevan (Dennika), and Estrella (Daniel).  Great-grandchildren: Marissa (Miguel), Renee, Noah, Christa, Cruz, Devon, Dante, Shante, Kaiden, Everley and Mila.  Great-great granddaughter Samantha. Sister Corrine Martinez and brother Mino Abeyta

Dollye was born December 11, 1927 in Espanola, N.M.  She graduated from Espanola High School and went on to work at Jemez Electric Company and Hunter Motor Company.  She married the love of her life Orlando Brown on June 24, 1967, and shared 52 amazing years together traveling and enjoying life.  During her life she owned a gift shop and a clothing store, but she spent many years being a homemaker and artist.  Dollye’s hobbies included bowling, art, baking, and she was a member of Beta Signa Phi sorority.  Dollye had a wonderful sense of humor and could always make people laugh.  She loved her family and friends dearly.  She loved God, was strong in her faith, and a member of Immaculate Conception Parish.  Dollye’s love, kindness, guidance, and generosity was a gift to all the lives she touched, and she will be missed dearly.

Our family’s gratitude is endless, and our love is boundless to everyone who has reached out, and has been there for us…..thank you.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Immaculate Conception parish in Las Vegas, NM and will begin at 9 am.  Burial services will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in El Llano, NM at 2:00 pm.
