Obituary of Dorothy Lucille White

 

 

Dorothy Lucille White (Dot), passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024, at her residence in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 93. She was born on February 26, 1930, in French New Mexico, to Hulda and Richard C. Gaylord.

 

Dot is survived by her loving son Richard and daughter-in-law Courtney. She was a cherished grandmother to her grandsons Nicholas and Michael, his wife Melissa and a doting great-grandmother to Lylah, Brielle, and Lucas.

 

She is also survived by her daughter Priscilla, son-in-law Gary, grandsons Albert, his wife Brianna, Christopher, Ryan, and Kyle.  Dot was delighted by her 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her sister Vera Brady, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Dot was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred, parents Hulda and Richard C. Gaylord and her siblings Alfred, Rosemary, and Olive.

 

Dot attended Springer High School in Springer, New Mexico, where she received her education. After graduation in 1947, she embarked on a career as an administrative assistant, working at several firms in Denver, California, and Albuquerque until her retirement.

 

In her free time, Dot had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint, painting, and cherished the moments spent going out in the RV with her husband and sisters. Gardening was another passion of hers, and she found solace in observing the hummingbirds that frequented her yard.

 

Dot will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her love for her family, and her unwavering faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her loved ones first. To her son she has always been and always will be his angel Dot's warm smile and caring heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

 

A gathering will be held to celebrate Dot's life and honor her memory this spring, please keep Dot and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
