Maxine R. Allen: A Life Well-Traveled and Lived to the Fullest

Maxine R. Allen, age 90, passed away on January 2nd, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico – a testament to her adventurous spirit, far from her birthplace of Cleveland, Ohio, where she first greeted the world on August 5th, 1933. Maxine's bold and loving essence led her to live in various states and cities, touching and influencing countless lives along the way.

Maxine's zest for life was contagious and often brought a mix of admiration and astonishment from those she met. Her straightforward, unapologetic approach to life earned her both love and ire, but always respect. She navigated through life's ups and downs with a unique blend of grace and fierceness that only she could.

As the matriarch of a large and bustling family, Maxine was the proud mother of nine children: Theresa, Doug, David, Deanna, Alice, Roxanne, Christine, Joey, and Danny. Her legacy further extended to a bevy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carry a piece of her indomitable spirit.

Maxine's accomplishments were as varied and impressive as the decades she lived through. Not only did she graduate from both high school and college, but she also soared above the clouds with her pilot's license, skillfully navigating the family plane. Her career was marked by successfully managing multiple Phillips 66 and other convenience stores, showcasing her business acumen across the globe.

To say Maxine lived to the impressive age of 90 is to say she saw the world change in ways few can imagine, and she adapted with it, leaving an indelible mark on the tapestry of her time. Maxine's story is one of bravery, love, and living authentically – a story that will be cherished and recounted by those who knew her and felt the warmth of her larger-than-life personality.

As we bid farewell to Maxine, we celebrate a life that was indeed 'freaking' remarkable. Her journey was long and filled with stories that will continue to inspire and guide us. Maxine R. Allen may have taken her final flight from this world, but her spirit continues to soar in the hearts she's left behind. We will miss her dearly
