In Loving Memory of Cory Lee Neher

Cory Lee Neher, 57, born on July 4, 1966, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on January 12, 2024 at his home in Edgewood, NM with his fiancé, Tammy Simmons, by his side.  

Cory worked in a variety of jobs including mall security, auto body repair and retail. In October 2002 his son Jacob Cole was born, followed in January 2005 by his daughter Hannah Lea. Following their births Cory became a dedicated stay-at-home dad.  He met his fiancé Tammy Simmons in 2011 with whom he found both a love for Maine and a new extended family.  

Cory loved the outdoors as his favorite pastimes were golfing, skiing and riding his motorcycle “Heidi”. He enjoyed fishing, hanging out at the Butte with friends, eating New Mexican food and taking cross-country road trips.  He loved his fiancé and his children with everything he had to give. We will remember Cory for the times he brought joy, laughter, and his unique perspective into our lives.

He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Jamie Lea Neher, his parents Kenneth and Linda Neher and Tammy’s son Trevor Ralph Douglas Trent who lived with them for many years.

Cory is survived by his children, Jacob and Hannah of Stanwood, Iowa, his fiancé, Tammy Simmons of Edgewood, NM, and his brother, Ron and wife Chris and their children of Corrales, NM.

Cory loved his family of origin, his children and his new extended family, so he will be memorialized accordingly.  Cremation has taken place and Cory will be laid to rest by his children at Molas Lake, CO where he will be reunited with his parents and sister; Cory will also be laid to rest alongside Tammy’s son Trevor in Maine.  

A memorial service for Cory will be held on March 16th at 6:00pm at 1364 Angel Road in Corrales with his family present.  A separate memorial service will happen in the summer in Maine.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and solace to all who mourn his passing.
