Obituary of John Burt Stephens

John Burt Stephens, fondly known by Jack, 71, of Rio Rancho NM, passed away, peacefully, 12/25/2023 at his daughter's home in Los Lunas NM.

He began his life April 4th of 1952 in Kingston PA. He then grew up in the town of Fairless Hills, PA. After earning his journeyman machinist recognition, he moved west to Albuquerque, NM to pursue his passion of skiing while also working towards a bachelor’s in architecture. His hobbies included skiing, sailing, drag racing and archery. He was very well known at the Albuquerque Dragway and in the local car scene. He was a master machinist and worked for the Department of Energy the majority of his career. He had his hand in fabricating various technologies that are used to defend the United States and he was always very proud of this fact. He is survived by one son and one daughter: John M. Stephens, Youngtown AZ; Tia L Stephens of Los Lunas NM and one grandchild, Aleyna Allen. He is preceded in death by his daughter Brenna Joy, his mother Marion, his father Arthur and his brother Alan amongst many other family members. He will be dearly missed and the hole he has left behind is vast but the memories he made with family and friends will last forevermore.

Services will be held on February 16th at 2:00 PM at Riverside Funeral Home at 820 Main St. Los Lunas NM.
