Arthur (Haska) Martinez

Arthur (Haska) Martinez passed away on Tuesday February 5, 2024.  He is survived by his daughter Veronica (Levi Sr.) Casaus and his son Timothy Martinez Sr. His grandchildren Triana (Richard Hernandez Jr.), TraciLynn (Steven Trujillo), Levi Jr. (Janelle Casaus) and Timothy Martinez Jr. He also had six great -grandchildren Mariana, Elena, Malakai, Ezekiel, Angelica and Estevan, and two sisters Bianca (Joe), and Roseanne.  He is preceded in death by his parents Emiliano and Lucarita (Gurule) Martinez. His brothers Mel Martinez and Tony Martinez, and his sisters Alicia Luciani and Angelina Grande.

Arthur was an active man, driving buses until he retired from Cuba Schools. He was also a truck driver, but one of his favorite activities was driving the fire bus for the Forrest Service during fire season. Arthur was a spiritual person that loved to pray the rosary 2-3 times a day for his family.  Arthur wore many hats, but one of his proudest was the hat of a grandfather and great grandfather with the nickname of Paka.

Arthurs services will be at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, New Mexico. On Friday March 1,2024. Rosary at 10:00 am with a mass to follow immediately at 11:00 am. Dinner will follow at the Guadalupe Hall next to the church.  Pallbearers will be Triana, TraciLynn, Levi Jr, Timothy Jr, Arthur Gurule and Dave Grande. Honorary pallbearers will be his great- grandchildren and Richard Hernandez Jr, Steven Trujillo and Janelle Casaus.
