William Feutz

Obituary of William Feutz

William Feutz (aka Papa Bill), left this world, at the age of 93 on March 2, 2024, in gentle peace. As a young man, he served in the US Army and went on to become a machinist for Santa Fe Railroad in Albuquerque New Mexico for 30 plus years. He married his beloved wife Virginia and together with her daughter Licia they became a family in 1963. Bill would often say that was the best day of his life. The family would travel around the country backpacking and camping (even igloo camping).

Together, Bill and Virginia built their adobe  home by hand in Corrales, which is truly a work of art. In Bill’s spare time he created yard art (metal miniatures)and a body of extraordinary replicas of medieval weapons which have awed and inspired many.
Bill will be remembered always for his kindness, generosity and profound integrity. He truly lived by the golden rule.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, in 2018. He is survived by his daughter, Licia Morello, granddaughter Andrea Morello, her husband Andrew Zako and great grandsons Oliver and Milo and will be fondly remembered by his loving friends.

Thank you to Hospice of New Mexico and Albuquerque Uptown Assisted Living. Special thanks to John and Diana Salter for their loving care of Bill in his final years.
